Craftsman tractor goes up a creek

Craftsman tractor goes up a creek Tube. Duration : 7.30 Mins.

Well, we got this old junker for , and figured it would be a good candidate for a drive in the creek. It actually didn't do quite as bad as I had expected a lightweight LT with small turf traction tires to do, I was able to get it out without having to get wet or muddy. Thank goodness it had a broken seat switch, so I could get off and leave it in gear and push. From the surface I didn't realize how many large rocks there were under the water, otherwise I would have just crossed here and went to another spot to drive in. So once I drove in I quickly found out that the bottom of this creek is covered in huge rocks. This little romp firmed up my notion that modern, vertical shaft tractors suck for this. When the belt gets submerged, the thing doesn't move well, and the tractor is just too lightweight to get good traction. Next time I do this I'm going to use an old heavy-duty horizontal shaft relic -like the Suburban.
